Russia's new naval base being constructed in Dagestan - media
Russia's Defense Ministry has started the construction of a naval base on the Caspian sea in Kaspiysk, Dagestan.
The new base will be one of Russia's most technically advanced naval facilities, the newspaper Izvestiya reported.
The construction will entail improving the harbor, building new docks as well as barracks, ammunition storage facilities, and officers' housing.
The plan to complete the base's construction in 2020.
