Russian President about National Guard's key functions
The key function of Russia’s National Guard is control of weapons turnover and the fight against terrorism and organized crime, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with officers.
"In early April, a new body of executive power was established on the basis of the Interior Ministry troops - the Federal Service of National Guard Troops," Putin reminded.
"Its key function is control of the turnover of weapons. Besides, in close contact with the Interior Ministry and the Federal Security Service it will fight terrorism and organized crime," TASS cited him as saying.
