Security services detain 12 terrorist organization members in Moscow
The Russian Interior Ministry and the Federal Security Service (FSB) have detained 12 members of a terrorist organization in Moscow, with criminal cases opened against the detained persons, the police informed, Russia Beyond the Headlines reports.
"The Interior Ministry officers and the FSB have detained 12 persons in Moscow - the heads and active members of a terrorist organization. According to preliminary data, the detained persons organized propaganda courses for involving citizens in the activity of an extremist organization outlawed in Russia," the police press office said.
The security services searched the detained persons’ living places and seized extremist literature and materials, the press office said.
"The FSB Investigative Department for Moscow and the Moscow Region has opened a criminal case under article 205.5 of Russia’s Criminal Code ("Organizing the Activity of a Terrorist Organization and Participation in the Activity of Such an Organization")," the press office said.
