Trump promises to protect gun rights in U.S.
U.S. President Donald Trump said that Democrats in Virginia were "working hard" to take away Americans' Second Amendment rights, as thousands descended on the State Capitol in Richmond to attend a gun rights rally.
"I will never allow our great second amendment to go unprotected, not even a little bit!" the U.S. president wrote on Twitter.
Thousands of gun-rights advocates carried semi-automatic weapons through the streets of Virginia’s capital city during a major gun rights demonstration, calling for a repeal of newly-passed gun control measures. Protesters were chanting "We will not comply!" and chiding Virginia governor Ralph Northam after he declared a state of emergency over the Lobby Day rallies.
