Trump to Iran: 'Never, ever threaten' US
US president Donald Trump has warned Iranian president Hassan Rouhani to never threaten the US again, saying he would not "stand for your demented words".
The US president issued the direct threat on Twitter after the Iranian leader cautioned Trump about pursuing hostile policies against Tehran, saying "war with Iran is the mother of all wars".
Using capital letters, Trump told Iran's Rouhani to "be cautious".
"Never, ever threaten the United States again or you will suffer consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before. We are no longer a country that will stand for your demented words of violence & death," Trump tweeted. "Be cautious!"
A war of words has escalated as Iran faces increased US pressure and looming sanctions after Trump's decision to withdraw the United States from a 2015 international deal over Iran's nuclear programme, the Telegraph reported.
