Turkish Foreign Ministry: ceasefire in Aleppo reached by Russia and Syrian opposition
A ceasefire agreement in Aleppo was reached through negotiations of Russian military and Syrian opposition, the Turkish Foreign Ministry's press secretary, Huseyin Muftuoglu, said.
"We can confirm that a ceasefire agreement was reached in eastern Aleppo as a result of the negotiations between the representatives of Russian military and opposition," Sputnik cited the statement as saying.
According to the ministry's statement, civilians and then groups of armed opposition would be evacuated in the direction of the town of Idlib, southwest of Aleppo. Muftuoglu pointed out Turkey's efforts to reach ceasefire and open humanitarian corridors in Aleppo.
