Turkish military opens fire on Kurds protesting in Kobane

The number of Kobane residents injured by the Turkish military as they protested at the border has risen to 40 people and a 17-year old was killed, the Peoples Protection Units (YPG) said.

Jinha news reported that Turkish soldiers opened fire on protesters with live ammunition and tear gas.

Kobane residents have been protesting Turkey’s construction of a cement wall along the city’s border with Turkey that, according to Ara News, will come 20 metres across the border, into territory of the self-autonomous Rojava region in northern Syria.
