U.S. intends to continue Syria safe zone talks with Turkey
Washington hopes to continue talks on a safe zone in Syria with Ankara, U.S. Department of State spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said.
"We hope, we believe these talks will continue, that it was – they did not end," she said.
According to the Department of State spokeswoman, Washington’s goals in Syria are, of course, to prevent a security vacuum that destabilizes the area. "We want to do that by addressing Turkey’s legitimate security concerns and by also protecting our partners in the fight against ISIS," Ortagus stressed.
