US and Jordan agree on need to confront Iran in Syria
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed the situation in the Middle East and the bilaterial cooperation, the US State Department said on its website.
It is reported that their meeting reaffirmed the United States and Jordan partnership on key regional issues from the defeat of ISIS to the Middle East peace process.
"Both of our countries know the threat that Iran poses to the region. This morning we had a chance to discuss how best to counter Iran’s malign influence and activity in the region, and with all of our allies we’ve had discussions with respect to the JCPOA," Pompeo said.
