US urges Israelis and Palestinians to return to dialogue
Yesterday US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Amman (Jordan) to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The goal of visit is the continuation of mediation efforts to unblock the peace process. In addition, the Secretary of State will meet with King Abdullah II.
Kerry proposed holding a trilateral Jordanian-Israeli-Palestinian summit under US auspices to try to reduce the level of confrontation between the parties and force them to return to dialogue, Trend reports.
However, at the moment neither Abbas nor Jordan's King Abdullah II has expressed willingness to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
