Volker reveals when he may visit Moscow
U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker has said he is ready to pay a visit to Moscow as soon as the Ukrainian seamen detained in the Kerch Strait are released.
"I hope I will be able to do it next year as soon as the seamen are released," he said in an interview with 1+1 TV channel.
Volker also said that he has decided that it would be inexpedient for him to visit Moscow after U.S. President Donald Trump canceled his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Interfax reported.
On November 25, three ships from the Ukrainian Navy illegally crossed Russia’s border. They ignored legitimate demands to stop issued by vessels belonging to the FSB Border Service and the Black Sea Fleet and continued to perform dangerous maneuvers. In order to stop the Ukrainian ships, the Russian forces had to detain the vessels.
