We would not enter into military alliance with Russia, Merkel’s Office reports
The German authorities have announced that they would not coordinate their military operations in Syria with Russia.
"Of course, we are not going to enter into a military alliance with Russia to combat Daesh," the head of the Federal Chancellery, Peter Altmaier, said. In addition, Germany will not conduct military talks with Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian army.
On Friday the German Parliament approved the military operation of its Armed Forces in Syria. It is expected that Germany will send 1200 of its soldiers to the Middle East, as well as 4-6 reconnaissance Tornado aircraft.
