Maiden’s Tower International Festival opens in Baku
The 5th Maiden’s Tower International Festival has opened in Icheri Shekher (Baku, Azerbaijan), Trend reports.
The Goitered gazelle has become the symbol of this year’s festival.
The festival has been held since 2010 to popularize the Maiden’s Tower which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2000. About 30 artists from 27 countries are taking part in the festival this year to paint paintings on open air for two days. Unique works will be presented at the closing of the festival on May 9.
The festival was organized by the Icherishekher State History and Architecture Reserve, IDEA Public Movement, Museum of Modern Art and the Qiz Qalasi Gallery under financial support of the Heydar Aliyev Fund.
