Azerbaijani pavilion of Venice Biennale tells of the horrors of totalitarianism

According to the press service of the Fund, the Beyond the Line and Vita Vitale exhibitions take place in the Azerbaijani pavilion in the 56th of Venice Biennale. They are organized with the help of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

The first of them contains the works of Ashraf Murad, Mirdzhavadova Javad, Tofig Javadov, Rasim Babayev, Fazil Najafov, Huseyn Ahverdiev and Shamil Najafzadeh. The exhibition reflects the freedom-loving spirit of artists who remained in the shadow of the repressive Soviet regime in the XX century.

 

The exhibition Vita Vitale is organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA. It contains works of the artists from Azerbaijan, USA, Austria, Great Britain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Switzerland and Uzbekistan, including the works of Edward Burtinskaya, Mircea Cantor, Loris Cecchini, Tony Clegg, Laura Ford, Leyla Aliyeva, Aida Mahmudova, Andy Warhol and others, who are concern about the fortune of the planet.

 

The exhibition takes place from May 6 to November 22.
