Iran opens SCANIA truck factory in Kazvin

The acting minister for industry and mining of Iran and the MAMMUT
Diesel Company have launched a factory for SCANIA G380 production in
Kazvin Province on July 5, reports.

The facility will produce 7,500 trucks annually. About $20 million
were invested in Iranian currency and 10 million euros-worth in
foreign currency.

Production will increase with opening of additional workplaces and a paint shop.

SCANIA production was launched despite economic sanctions against
Iran. The sanctions do not affect car manufacturing.

MAMMUT Diesel is an exclusive representative of SCANIA (Sweden) in
Iran. It produces, sells and services SCANIA in Iran.

Iran also produces Volvo vehicles.
