Iran continues to enlarge its tanker fleet despite oil embargo

Iran added 13 new tankers to its fleet, the director of the Oil Transportation Company of Iran, Jamal Meyahi announced, Trend reports with reference to Moj News.

Meyahi noted that currently Iran's fleet consists of 47 tankers and is capable of transporting 11 million tons of oil, adding that the purchase of 13 new tankers will increase the capacity up to 18 million tons.

Currently the tankers of the Iranian Oil Transportation company of Iran delivers fuel to 50 countries. The company works with such industry giants as Shell and Total.

He also said that the company is now fully funded by the Iranian National Bank, without foreign investments.
