Russia to grant South Ossetia 2.8 billion rubles
Russia will grant South Ossetia aid of over 2.8 billion rubles, said Alexander Khloponin, Russian Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District, at the 9th session of the Russian – South Ossetian intergovernmental commission for socio-economic cooperation, ITAR-TASS reports.
The sum will be spent on the launch of facilities under construction. The investment program will boost the economic development in South Ossetia until 2017.
Khloponin noted that the program in 2012-2013 had been fully realized.
South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov noted that the republic will have a lot more done in 2014 than in 2012 and 2013 put together. The republic plans to host an economic forum and organize some other events in 2014 to improve the investment climate.
