Naryshkin: we offer the president to cut salaries of deputies
Russia’s lower house of parliament intends to ask Russia's President Vladimir Putin to cut wages for the lawmakers, if all of the parties give a positive response to proposal, the speaker of the lower house of parliament, Sergei Naryshkin, said after a meeting of the Duma Council.
"I’ve asked all four parties in the State Duma to discuss the issue of a possible cut in wages for the deputies. It is the responsibility of the head of state. If all of the parties give a positive response to my proposal, then we’ll turn to the president with the proposal," TASS cited him.
Earlier, Russian First Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, Ivan Melnikov, said that the deputies' reaction to this proposal was "mostly positive".
