World Bank ready to support insurance market of Azerbaijan
In May-June 2015, the Board of Directors of the World Bank (WB) plans to adopt a new strategy of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the 2015-2020 fiscal years, WB manager for Azerbaijan Larisa Leshchenko said.
"At the beginning of April, it is scheduled to discuss the priorities of the strategy with the Azerbaijani government. The document will be discussed with other stakeholders, including civil society organizations," 1news.az cited Leshchenko.
The new 6-year strategy of cooperation with Azerbaijan will cover the following areas: improving the efficiency of public services, private sector support, access to additional financing, improvement of the business climate and infrastructure, development of roads and railways.
Since 1992, the Bank has financed 54 projects in Azerbaijan at a cost of $3.3 billion. At present, 17 projects continue to be implemented.
