Green cinema festival in Sochi
The first festival of ecological cinema "Green Carnation“ will start today in Sochi, as part of the cultural program of the Cultural Olympics 'Sochi 2010-2014“, RIA Novosti reports, citing the Sochi-2014 Organization Committee.
The festival was organized by the Organization Committee together with the fund of cultural, educational and ecological initiatives development „Green Carnation“ and the fund of social programs. The main topic is man and nature. One of the projects is the establishment of a Russian cultural-ecological project to form new views on ecological problems.
The festival will last three days. 30 featured and 60 short films will be shown, there will be films for children and screenings of archive films.
The judges of the contest program are headed by director Constantine Lopushanskiy, film selection was held by a commission headed by the chief of 'Green Carnation“, cinema specialist Vyacheslav Shmyrov.
Celebrities of Soviet and Russian cinema Natalya Bondarchuk and Stanislav Lyubshin will take part at the festival, as well as Russian and international ecology organizations.
'Green carnation“ festival is the first part of the massive culture and ecology project 'Green Art“. The project is planned for 4 years. The project will make 2011 the Year of Cheater, 2012 — the Year of Music, 2013 — the Year of Museums of modern ecological art and photography, ecological art-tour 'Masterpieces of Russian art on Sochi streets“.
