ECHR ordered Russia to pay 1.3 million euros at the suit of the inhabitants of Chechnya
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has decided to pay more than 1,3 million euros as compensation to the residents of Chechen republic, recognized by the court as aggrieved from the anti-terrorist operation in 1999 - the text of the decision is available on the website of Russian Agency of the legal and judicial information (Infosud.ru).
In July 2003 27 residents of one of the settlements Shelkovskaya district of Chechnya, which suffered an air strike in 1999, appealed to ECHR. According to the documents, the bombing killed five people, many houses were destroyed.
