Border between Syria and Jordan remains closed
Damascus has denied information on closing border with Jordan, RIA Novosti cites the head of Syrian customs service.
Reuters reported earlier that the two border crossing points in Deraa and Nasib remain closed.
Al Jazeera reported that Syrian military forces entered Deraa. Syrian media say that Al Jazeera perverts facts. There have been two weeks of protests at the office of Al Jazeera with demands to close it.
Syria has had protests since mid-March. They started from an arrest of pupils who were writing anti-government slogans on walls. People demanded their release. Disorders spread to Homs and Hama. Over 350 people were killed in clashes with police.
Protests continue despite President Bashar Al-Assad’s lifting of the state of emergency which remained in force since 1963.
