Chechnya ready for language festival
Chechnya has established the organization committee to host the Chechen Language Festival on April 25, press service of the Chechen government reports.
Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov signed the decree hold the festival.
The Language Festival was set in 2007, marking publication of the first Chechen paper called Serlo (Light) in 1923. The republic will have contests for best stories and verses in the Chechen language, festivals and competitions.
Schools will have the Chechen Language Week, Grozny will host a science conference to discuss the language, a book fair will be held, theaters will stage plays in Chechen.
The organization committee includes Anzor Muzayev, Minister for Education and Science, Adnan Nagayev, Minister for National Policy, Press and Information, Dikal Muzakayev, Minister for Culture, Kanta Ibragimov, Chairman of the Chechen Writers’ Union, and other officials. The committee is supervised by Magomed Daudov, Chechen Vice Premier and head of the Presidential Administration.
