Tbilisi Armenians want memorial plaques on city streets

Mikhail Tatevosov, President of the Union of Tbilisi Armenians, has requested the Tbilisi Sakrebulo Chairman, Zaal Samadashvili, to consider setting memorial plaques on buildings in the historic part of the city, Georgia Online reports.

Tatevosov wants the plaques to have such names as Victor Ambartsumyan, a notable academician in astrophysics, the brothers Artem and Avraam (Abraham) Alikhanyan, well-known physicists, classic author Akop Melik-Akopyan and other notable figures.

The union is willing to pay for installation of the plaques.
