Georgia is not afraid of Russian war games - minister

Georgia is not afraid of the war games being held in the Black Sea by Russian military forces, Georgian Defense Minister Irakly Alasania says.

The minister noted that the war games do not involve Russian forces in Abkhazia and South Ossetia and that Russian ships are not violating Georgian sea space.

The minister underlined, however, that Russia had not informed neighbouring states about the war games beforehand, which was a violation of international law.

"We pay attention to these war games, but do not consider these drills as a threat," Alasania said.
