3rd Baku International Humanitarian Forum opens

The Heydar Aliyev Center is hosting the 3rd Baku International Humanitarian Forum attended by Nobel Prize winters, members of international organizations, experts and ex-leaders of countries from over 100 states of the world.

Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan and co-chair of the forum, Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, took part in the opening. Aliyev spoke about the humanitarian problems caused by the over 20-year-old Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the more than 1 million refugees created by the tragedy.

Mikhail Shvydkoy, Russian Minister for Culture, Mikhail Gusman, Deputy Director General of ITAR-TASS, Yefim Pivovar, Rector of the RSUH, Mikhail Shevchenko, a member of the Russian Presidential Council forInterethnic Relations, Alexey Vlasov, Executive Director of the North-South Center for Political Analysis are attending the meeting.

The forum will have a two-hour plenary session to hear reports made by its attendants. Nobel Prize winners will be the highlight of the talks tomorrow.
