New round of negotiations between Iran and the “Six” will begin in Geneva
Once again, in Geneva, political directors of the "Six" group and Iran are gathering to discuss Iran's nuclear program.
The main issues remain, on the one hand, the mechanism and timing of the lifting of sanctions, and on the other - the restriction of Tehran's nuclear program (reduction of stocks of enriched uranium, the number of centrifuges).
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US Secretary of State John Kerry are expected to arrive in Geneva today. In addition, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, and US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz are joining the negotiating process for the first time. It is obvious that their presence could accelerate the negotiations and elaboration of the technical details of a future agreement.
