United States extends sanctions against Iran for one year
US President Barack Obama has extended the sanctions against Iran for another year, the White House press service said.
"Certain actions and policies of the government of Iran continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy and economy of the United States," Lenta.ru cited Barack Obama's letter to Congress.
At the same time, Obama noted the progress in the negotiations of the six international mediators and Tehran on Iran's nuclear program.
Recall that in March 1995 the White House declared a state of national emergency with respect to Iran.
