Dagestan's Ministry of Education states there is no USE-tourism in republic
According to the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, so-called USE-tourism is gaining momentum this year in particular, as parents of graduates struggle to find a place where it is easier and cheaper to take the exam.
At the same time, a letter signed by the Minister of Education and Science of Dagestan, Arthur Dalgatov, states that information on the development of USE-tourism in the region and high scores in the Russian language exam do not correspond to reality.
"The thesis about the highest scores in Russia in the Russian language exam among students from Dagestan has been repeated more than once, while, in fact, this hasn't happened even once," RIA News quoted the Ministry of Education of Dagestan.
As for the popular video about violations in the exam procedures in one of the schools in the republic, the ministry noted that it was filmed back in 2011, and that the case has been investigated.
The letter notes that instances of graduates travelling from urban to rural areas in order to take the exam in places where control is weaker have been identified and made public by the Ministry itself.
