Baku to host Univision Song Contest
Baku will host the final of the Univision Song Contest at the Heydar Aliyev Palace organized by the Union of Young Student Organizations of Azerbaijan and the Ministry for Youth and Sports under the slogan of “Be the first!” on June 21, News Azerbaijan reports.
20 countries of Europe, Asia and America will participate. Ratings will be given at a scale of 12 points. Eldar Gasymov, winner of the Eurovision 2011 Song Contest, and Farid Mamedov, second at the Eurovision 2013 Song Contest, will be the special guests of Univision.
Zerrin Mahmudzade of the Kavkaz University, winner of the Univision Contest, will represent Azerbaijan.
Univision will be held in the format of Eurovision, but without sms-votes. Winners will be selected by judges secretly. Three singers with the highest points will share the prize of €6000.
