Russian human rights activist Estemirova killed for publications
Human rights activist Natalya Estemirova killed on July 15, 2009, was murdered for publications about recruitment of militants and attacks on a Moscow businessman, ITAR-TASS cites spokesman of the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin.
Alkhazur Bashayev is suspected of her murder. Over 1000 witnesses have been questioned, over 80 expert reviews made, over 380 orders and requests given to the law enforcers.
An request for assistance was filed to France in 2010. No response has been given yet.
Markin noted that information about investigations was not published in Russia. Statements of people involved in the case are their personal opinions and do not meet the real state of affairs. The investigation has never been stopped and will continue until August 15, 2013, according to the official.
