Counter-terrorist operation in Lak region in Dagestan is over
In the Lak region of Dagestan, where on Sunday and Tuesday six security officers were killed and three militants eliminated, the regime of a counter-terrorist operation has been declared over, the representative of the operational headquarters in the country announced.
"The CTO regime, introduced on July 14, was lifted on Monday at 17:30," RIA Novosti quotes the source.
On July 14, gunmen shot and killed four police officers in the village of Bursch, who arrived there after a call about a robbery. One of the alleged attackers was killed. Later, on July 16 two more police officers were killed, they were fired at by unknown persons seven kilometers away from the village of Bursch. In the morning of July 18 on the outskirts of the village two militants were killed.
