Wizz Air gone from Azerbaijan
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is curtailing its business in Azerbaijan.Previously, Wizz Air stated that it planned to resume flights to and from Azerbaijan from 29 March, then the date was postponed until May. And now Wizz Air’s website has no information on flights to Azerbaijan. Thus, the company cancelled plans to resume cheap air passage to the country, abc.az reports.
The first flight via the Baku-Budapest route was carried out on 17 June 2013. Since October 2014 flights have been suspended in connection with the expiration of the agreement. Tickets fora return Baku-Budapest flight cost 49.99 euros one way (including taxes).
14,000 people enjoyed Wizz Air services in 2013 and up to 26,000 people in 2014, Hungarian state secretary for foreign economic relations and foreign affairs Peter Szijjártó said earlier in Baku.
