Russian figures congratulate Mehriban Aliyeva

Eleonora Mitrofanova, Russia's permanent representative to UNESCO, Nikas Safronov, a notable artist, Stalik Khankishiyev, a Russian cook and writer, and Prof. Petr Litvitsky, an academician of the Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, have congratulated Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, president of the Heydar Aliyev Fund and goodwill ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, on her birthday. They praised her for her cooperation within the framework of UNESCO, beauty, intellect and education.

Kuwait awards Aliyeva with diploma

Kuwait has awarded an Honorary Diploma to Mehriban Aliyeva, the president of the Heydar Aliyev Fund, a goodwill ambassador of the UNESCO and ISESCO, for her promotion of Islamic heritage, charity in Azerbaijan and abroad, contribution to education and medicine, Trend reports. The diploma was signed by Sheikha Latifa al Fahad al Salem al Sabah, the head of the Kuwaiti Committee for Women. It is the first award Kuwait has awarded on behalf of women to a foreign socio-political figure.

Kremlin monasteries demolished in 1920s may be rebuilt

Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed restoring the Chudov and Voznesensky monasteries, demolished on the territory of the Moscow Kremlin in 1929-1930, ITAR-TASS reports.Putin discussed the idea with Sergey Sobyanin, the Moscow mayor, Sergey Khebnikov, the governor of the Moscow Kremlin, Andrey Batalov, deputy director general of the Moscow Kremlin Reserve Museum, and Dmitry Shvidkovsky, the rector of the Moscow Architectural Institute, at the Ivanovskaya Square of the Kremlin, next to the 14th building.The plan needs approval from the public and UNESCO.
