Russian Interior Ministry to spend 120 million rubles on drones

The Russian Interior Ministry plans to spend over 120 million rubles on purchases of drones, RIA Novosti reports.

4 drone complexes are needed, including two drones, Ford Transit or Gazel microbuses with computers and radio stations. The complexes may also have a tent and tourism furniture.

Drone complexes will be used in Stavropol Territory, the Amur Region, Dagestan and the Astrakhan Region. Additional equipment will be sent to Krasnodar Territory, Baikonur, the Omsk Region, Kabardino-Balkaria and Ingushetia.

Drone complexes will be provided by October 2012, additional equipment – by September 2012.

Tender bids are welcome until April 26. An online auction was announced for May 10, 2012.

Dagestani acting President Ramazan Abdulatipov visited Gazprom Transgaz Makhachkala to discuss gas developments. He noted that the republic planned “new industrialization”, construction of new factories and reconstruction of gas pipelines. The pipelines will be extended to 1,500km in length, gas distribution networks to 13,000km. The Mozdok – Kazimagomed pipeline section needs reconstruction. Abdulatipov pointed out the problem of land for housing construction near pipelines.
