Car industry contributes 3.5% to Iranian economy

Majid Hedayat, head of the Organization for Development and Modernization of Industry of Iran, said that they plan to manufacture 1.8 million cars this year, Iran News reports.

The official said that 3.5% of the country’s GDP and 21% of added value come from car industry. He noted that many reports on the refusal of foreign companies to cooperate with Iranian car manufacturers are false, all decisions are made to take account of opinions of both sides.

Hedayat added that foreign companies harm themselves by scrapping cooperation with Iran because the Iranian car industry is developing rapidly.
