Gazprom to replace Central Asia for Stavropol Territory
The linear section of the Izobilny-Nevinnomyssk gas pipeline has been completed. It will make the southern part of Russia independent of Central Asian gas. The pipeline is 98.6km long, it has been fully tested, Interfax reports.
Systems of energy supply, automatization, telemechanization and technological communication are currently under construction. They will allow monitoring and management of all facilities of the gas pipeline.
Gazprom Head Alexey Miller said that southern Russia could not afford Central Asian gas. Tens of millions of cubic metres of gas from Central Asia are supplied daily. About 40% of gas in the Stavropol Territory was supplied by Central Asia in 2013.
