Transnistria wants to merge with Russia

Mikhail Burla, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Transnistria, sent a request to merge with Russia to Speaker of the Lower House of the Russian Parliament Sergey Naryshkin, Vedomosti reports.
The request was made in the light of the recent A Fair Russia bill on the simplification of annexation in Russia. According to the document, a country may become a Russian territory via referendum regardless of its government’s opinion, if there is no efficient legitimate government in the country.
The party wihhdrew its bill yesterday.

 PACE Secretary General Wojciech Sawicki said yesterday that Russia may be deprived of voting rights at the organization for a year from January. Igor Morozov, a member of the Russian delegation to the PACE, noted that the procedure would be a complicated discussion. Should Russia lose the right to vote, it will reconsider its membership in the PACE.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said that the Russian agreement on alliance and strategic partnership with breakaway Abkhazia was undermining efforts to stabilize security in the region. Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, Rosneft Head Igor Sechin and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Raphael Ramirez are attending Russian-Venezuelan talks on oil prices in Vienna today. They will discuss Russia’s proposal to lower oil extraction with OPEC states. Russia offers to reduce oil extraction by 15 million tons simultaneously with reduction of its extraction in OPEC countries by 70 million tons. Raphael Ramirez proposed the same idea during a visit to Russia.
